Aitan Grossman, a 6th grade student from California was troubled greatly by the environmental situation facing his generation. He wanted to do something - something big - to reduce global warming and to unite his young generation around the world.

And that's just what he did. And now you can help too.

Aitan wrote a ballad called 100 Generations and sent it off to his fellow students on six continents requesting a response - in song - from students who shared his vision and concerns about global warming.

He says the ballad is about "the integrity of nature we're taking for granted."

Aitan's Words:

"Send a message that we should not wait any longer. Sing our song with us, share it with your friends, and if you can, buy a copy so we can give money to environmental groups that are working hard to stop climate change right now."

The response was incredible. Children volunteered to be a part of Aitan's global music project from countries around the globe, many of which are threatened by environmental disasters - like droughts, wild fires and melting glaciers - regularly.

So far, songs have been submitted by students from Botswana, France, Taiwan, Venezuela, Ethiopia, and the United States. Their music can be found on Amazon and iTunes for $.99. All proceeds will benefit KidEarth's favorite environmental organizations: World Wildlife Fund and the Alliance for Climate Protection.

What do these young environmentalists hope to accomplish? Their goal is to have their message go viral on the internet, informing the kids who are about to inherit a planet that is vastly different from their parents. They would like to help them understand what they personally can do to turn the world's climate around.

Aitan is optimistic. He is hoping that KidEarth can be the voice of Earth loving kids around the world. Want to help him? Share this with the children in your life! Encourage them to make their own song and submit it to KidEarth!

You can follow Aitan on Twitter to stay up to date with his current projects. Watch the videos at KidEarth and hear Aitan's song and others.

Hi amy, Very interesting and amazing what kids can do. I believe Aitan proved it that it doesn't matter if you are a kid or an adult, you can make a difference.

Hi Mr. Nice - I agree! My 5-year-old daughter always says "little hands can do big things." I love to see children make such an effort to help the world around them,
