Ultra Green Tea Diet
66What is Ultra Green Tea?
Dieting fads are a nasty plague on the average American hoping to lose a few pounds before summer arrives. Ultra Green Tea is just the latest on my list of rip off fad diets. What really bothers me is the fact that they are polluting the good name of green tea and all of its amazing health benefits to make a quick buck off of desperate dieters.
The truth is, you should drink green tea for the countless health benefits it can provide. To get the optimal results, its best to drink your green tea in its purest, cleanest natural form. Ultra Green Tea is a powdered concoction with added (suspicious) ingredients to super-charge your metabolism and burn fat with virtually no effort from you. Let's not forget the artificial strawberry and citrus flavors and coloring. Yum.
Is Ultra Green Tea Worth Your Money?
At the Ultra Green Tea website you'll find...well, not much. There is no information on how to take it, a break down of the ingredients or an explanation of possible side effects. Buyer beware!
They claim to offer a 30 Day Free Trial of Ultra Green Tea. A quick read of the fine print will tell you that their so called free trial is not at all free. You will be charged $69 after only 14 days.
In my investigative travels (across the internet) I have found countless unhappy customers who have complained that Ultra Green Tea doesn’t work (big surprise) but more often the complaints are regarding an inability to cancel the automatic monthly subscription. Eventually, frustrated customers had to go directly to their credit card company to cancel payment. Most are left with a couple of months of charges (at $69 a pop) and a bunch of Ultra Green Tea packets for which they have no use.
The company has even been accused of passing on credit card information to other companies leading to unauthorized charges to their customers. Ultra Green Tea is a product to stay far, far away from.
The Real Green Tea
This doesn’t mean you should stay away from the genuine green tea that has been used in Chinese Medicine for over 4,000 years!
Green tea can have an amazing effect on your health and it makes a great addition to a healthy lifestyle. Consider the weight loss a perk! Green tea can (to name just a few): stop the growth of cancer cells, prevent tooth decay, fight infection and lower cholesterol.
Can green tea (the natural, not the ultra green tea) really help dieters? Studies have shown that green tea can aid dieters in the following ways:
- Boost metabolism
- Reduce craving (this is based on a study done on rats- so, no promises)
- Reduce calories consumed –green tea has little to no calories. If you use it to replace your coffee or soft drinks, you will cut back on your caloric intake for the day.
Keep in mind that green tea does contain caffeine (less per cup than coffee) so if you are sensitive or suffer from insomnia you may want to be careful with your intake.
Now sit back with a pretty little tea cup filled with healthy green tea. Kick your feet up and enjoy.

Good that you warn your readers of the pitfall of Ultra Green Tea.
UGT obviously counts on nobody reading the fine print before ordering their "free" sample. Hiding such things in the fine print needs to be illegal, and companies who do so should have to refund (at least) an amount equal to 3X *each* credit card hit. Such companies probably fall under state fraud and/or deceptive advertising laws. Ripped off UGT customers should contact their state's attorney general about filing charges. I would think the US Postal Service could also prosecute each instance under *federal* mail fraud statutes.
Why anyone would think *ultra* green tea would be better than the *plain* green tea available in any supermarket just goes to show how gullible people are.
btw, I'll stick to coffee, as a recent study shows caffeine prevents the onset of Alzheimer's. I may not be a thin as I'd like, but at least I'll be able to remember that once I was thin. ;)
I tend to think all of these fads would benefit if people remember "moderation"!
I like green tea - we drink it quite a bit, with jasmine. But I'll leave the "ultra" thing to itself.
Great job, Amy Jane. It's so easy to get sucked into a bogus product when your hopes are high that the product will deliver what it promises. These UGT people deserve a cosmic / karmic bad hit for the way they prey on emotions.
At the same time, consumers need to temper their expectations long enough to read the fine print.
Thumbs up.
It's too bad that bad apples spoil the bunh. Green Tea truly has excellent benefits but there is always someone trying to jump on the bandwagon and make a quick buck with outlandish promises. We should know by now that nothing worth having comes easy and anything that promises weight loss simply by taking a product - well, if that were true, we would all be drinking ultra green tea and never have to diet again.
Good information and research for those who may have thought about buying this product. I personally just drink the tea. That's where all the health benefits of green tea are. I'll pass this infromation alosn to people I know. You got a thumbs up!
Summer is coming and I can't get away from those bikinis... too bad there's no easy fix for losing weight. Great info though, I'm glad I read this.
I love green tea too. I like it with lemon or with jasmine. I have also been taking green tea extract lately and I think it helps me keep in a good shape. Plain green tea is good, but also take into account the fact that the way it is manufactured can alter its qualities. And then, even if you get one of the best quality, you have to drink several cups a day to actually get the amount of antioxidants that would make a difference. That is why I considered taking green tea extract. It's true that there are many that promise miracles and offer very little, but let's not throw the towel on all of them.
I've been drinking Arizona green tea on a daily basis for years! Great hub.
You are right, Amy, and did I say this is a great hub? I got the impression from the previous comments that, as a reaction to some products claiming too much, people would fall in the other extreme, and not look into other green tea extracts. I was trying to create some balance. Conclusion is, as you say, that it is good to do some research before making a purchase.

Great Hub!
These rip off diets should be monotored by someone, but the gov has bigger fish to fry!
I actually bought a bottle of the "pineapple diet pills" once. I can't believe I fell for that one. The good news is that "no jackass steps in the same hole twice." I never fall for them now!
